Regular Version - Image 1-2
These pieces were done for my Sculpture IB class. The design of the sculpture was roughly based on one of my old Creature drawings that I named Garthock. The assignment was to create and cast 24 pieces. The first 12 needed to be set up in one arrangement and the other 12 to have a completely different arrangement. The creature was first sculpted in clay and then covered with a silicone mold. The silicone was then reinforced with a plaster shell. The mold was then cleaned out and refilled with hydro-cal over and over to make the 24 pieces.
Revised Version - Image 3
This rotating version was painted and photographed more than a semester after the first ones were finished. This Version was painted with oils and sealed over with acrylic. I created this rotating animation by photographing the sculpture and then turning it a few degrees. I then just repeated the process until I had gone all the way around.
