This series of drawings is from my Painting III class. The class, as you can see, comprised of us students standing in a circle drawing the nude model posing in the center. We used charcoal sticks on cheap newsprint for the majority of the semester, and arches paper for the last two.
The first 6 Images are drawings from early on in the class. We began the semester by sketching very quick gestural drawings, each taking only about 15 or so seconds. We then increased the time spent on each drawing as the semester went on.
The next 5 Images are drawings from around the middle part of the semester. Around this time we were spending more time on each drawing, doing 3 or 4 each class.
The last 4 Images are drawings from near the end of the semester. Around this time we were spending a lot more time on each drawing. A whole class period was spent on each of the last two drawings (if I remember correctly).
