This piece is an oil painting of a peach pit done for my Painting II class. It is an in-depth study of color and mood. The assignment was to paint a complex natural object using color and brush strokes to create a sensuous mood. My personal goals also included a study of layering of the paint. Several 'under paintings' were created and built up to add to the richness of color in the final piece.
