Modified Saddled Version
This was a pencil on paper sketch. The saddle was also a pencil on paper sketch, but was added in later. Originally, the only other alterations made were the coloring and painting in an eye. I later went back and played with the shading and positions of some of the scales on the hind leg.
This creature inspired me to create scenes for it in my STP story that I am "currently" writing. In one of the scenes the Phina is spooked and rares up on her two front legs while cocking her rear two legs in behind her. With her horns jutting out protecting her front side she wobbles around on her front two legs with her rear legs ready to kick protecting her back side.
Blinking Eye Animation
For this image I rendered the eye digitally and then animated the skin around it.
Phinazarus / Dewback Version
This is the Morph I created between the Dewback and the Phinazarus. 1/20/05 - I updated this morph by going back and redoing the background legs. Because the background legs in the two images are located in different areas of the 2-dimentional layout, it was impossible to do one straight morph between the two. In the original morph I simply had to make the background legs disappear from one image and reappear in the other. In this updated version I've gone back and created a separate morph between the background legs; with the foreground legs erased except for the areas that covered where the background legs would have appeared. I was then able to take that separate morph and paint it into the background of each frame of the final version. This created new problems with the shadow beneath the creatures, so I had to also do a separate morph just for the shadow.
